Temple Upkeep

Members and Friends:

I greet you in the name of the Lord. On September 18, 1992, the Lord elevated me to the Office of Jurisdictional Bishop. Bishop Louis Henry Ford installed me as the Jurisdictional Bishop of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southern Mississippi. Today marks 27 years ago that I began to serve you -- the Saints of Mississippi Southern Second. I am grateful for your support of my leadership. I am grateful to God for the many things that we have been able to accomplish as a Jurisdiction since we began over 35 years ago.

On Sunday, August 4, 2019, we were blessed of the Lord to burn the mortgage on the McDowell-Nance Convention Center. We rejoice because our Jurisdictional Headquarters is now debt-free!

Although we are free of debt on our headquarters, we are not free of upkeep and maintenance. We must continue to be good stewards of the property that the Lord has provided.

MONTHLY TEMPLE UPKEEP - $125 PER CHURCH

I am asking for the help of every local church as we launch our new program of support for the McDowell-Nance Convention Center. The new program of support will be known as the MONTHLY TEMPLE UPKEEP. With this new program, each and every local church is asked to contribute a minimum of $125 each month for the on-going maintenance and upkeep of our multi-million dollar Temple.

This is how you can help:

1. If you are a Pastor, ensure that the local church and the membership has an opportunity to support the vision of our Jurisdictional Bishop. All of the details that you need will be sent to you in a separate letter.

2. If you are a District Superintendent, you can help by following up with every pastor and local church in your District to ensure that this vision succeeds.

3. If you are a member, with or without credentials, your personal support of this vision is the key to its success. No church is too small to benefit from this opportunity to give. As little as 4 people in a church giving $31.25 every month will cause this MONTHLY TEMPLE UPKEEP vision to flourish. As little as 7 people giving $4.50 per week will fund the MONTHLY TEMPLE UPKEEP for YOUR home church.

We have been good stewards thus far of the McDowell-Nance Convention Center. Let's plan to consistently give our best monthly support as we move forward UNITED.
