Who can attend the Jurisdictional Call Meeting?

The Jurisdictional Call Meeting is Open to ALL Members of Mississippi Southern Second to attend.

Do I have to register and why?

The Jurisdictional Call Meeting is the Annual Business and Planning Meeting. It is open to ALL Members of Mississippi Southern Second.

Since this meeting is not open to the general public, everyone who attends must register and be confirmed as a current member of the jurisdiction.

Registration is FREE.

What is the Jurisdictional Assembly?

Jurisdictional Assemblies are bodies of the Church of God in Christ composed of the following members within, or affiliated with, designated Ecclesiastical Jurisdictions, to wit: Jurisdictional Bishops; Supervisor of Women’s Department; All Pastor of Local Churches; Ordained Elders; District Missionaries; Jurisdictional Department Heads; and one lay delegate elected from each jurisdictional district.

Jurisdictional Assemblies shall be presided over by their respective Bishops. Jurisdictional Assemblies shall have the right to adopt such laws and rules for their government as may be deemed necessary and proper, but shall not adopt any law, rule, or regulation in conflict with, or repugnant to the Charter, Constitution, laws, rules, and regulations of the General Church.

Jurisdictional Assemblies of the various Ecclesiastical Jurisdictions shall elect from their membership delegates to the General Assembly.

Who can VOTE in the Jurisdictional Assembly?

Who should attend this Annual Call Meeting as a VOTING member of the Jurisdictional Assembly?

  1. Jurisdictional Bishops
  2. All Pastor of Local Churches
  3. All Ordained Elders
  4. Jurisdictional Department Heads
  5. Supervisor of the Women’s Department
  6. All District Missionaries
  7. And one male or female lay delegate elected from each district.

The Jurisdictional Call Meeting is Open to ALL Members of Mississippi Southern Second to attend.

Only the persons listed above will be able to cast a vote.

What is the Executive Board Meeting?

The members of the Executive Board of the Jurisdiction are appointees of the Jurisdictional Bishop. The members include the Administrative Assistants, District Superintendents, Jurisdictional Executive Staff, Chairman of AIM, Chairman of the Council of Pastors and Elders, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and the Chairman of the Executive Board.

This is a closed meeting. ONLY members may attend.

The Executive Board meets to coordinate all directive given to the Board by the Jurisdictional Bishop. The Board is also responsible in part and as a whole for the implementation and support of all jurisdictional programs as authorized by the Jurisdictional Bishop and the Jurisdictional Assembly.

The meeting is preceded by the Registration CHECK-IN and BREAKFAST. The AGENDA will be provided directly to all members of the Executive Board.

What is the District Missionaries' Meeting?

The Jurisdictional Supervisor and/or the Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor will meet with the District Missionaries. Pertinent information regarding their role and pending assignment will be provided.

The meeting is preceded by the Registration CHECK-IN. The AGENDA will be provided directly to all who are District Missionaries before or during the meeting.

What is the Elders' Council Meeting?

All Pastors of Local Churches and Ordained Elders with Active Credentials and in good standing are members of the Jurisdictional Council of Pastors and Elders.

The Council meets to act on any business referred to it by the Jurisdictional Bishop. This includes any ordained minister seeking membership in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. who is requesting an exchange of credentials. The business of the Council includes any cases referred to the council involving any member of the council.

The Council serves as a practical forum for presenting pertinent information and directions regarding matters regarding the local church and credentialing for male ministers. It serves as a forum to disseminate details the implementation and support of all jurisdictional and national church programs.

It is not a replacement for the Jurisdictional Assembly. Thus, it has no ability to make any laws governing the jurisdiction or its officers. The Jurisdictional Assembly alone has the power to make laws and set assessments for members of the jurisdiction.

The meeting is preceded by the Registration CHECK-IN. The AGENDA will be provided directly to all members of the Council of Pastors and Elders before or during the meeting.

What time should I arrive for the Call Meeting?

Plan to arrive at least thirty (30) minutes before your session(s) begin. You must CHECK-IN or REGISTER ON-SITE before the GENERAL SESSION begins.

REGISTRATION will close at 10:15 AM.

This will provide sufficient time to certify the house for any business requiring the Jurisdictional Assembly to act.
